Terrazzo still remains an exciting, stylish and classic finish but most terrazzo floors in and around Adelaide have been installed around 30 years ago and are in need of some rejuvenation due to wear and tear over the years.

Most existing terrazzo floors are in toilet blocks, entrance areas of shops and in malls. Even though terrazzo is a hard wearing service, they are looking dull and worn from years of service and do no longer meet the Australian Standards for slip resistance as per AS/NZS 4586-2014 and AS/NZS 4663-2014. Rather than removing and replacing the existing terrazzo, we can preserve it by rejuvenating it.

Rejuvenating means polishing it back to its former glory and protecting it from further wear and tear with a clear layer of sealant. Applying a layer of sealant is not only a cost effective solution to further enhance the beauty of the existing terrazzo, it also allows the incorporation of anti- slip aggregate to meet the current Australian Standards AS/NZS 4663-2014 – Slip resistance for existing pedestrian surfaces with out compromising the look.
