Polished concrete floors are becoming increasingly popular for shops, warehouses, offices, open living areas, entertainment areas, etc. but often old floors are contaminated, too porous or too damaged to achieve a good finish with traditional polished concrete grinding works. They also often don’t meet the South Australian Work Health and Safety Act (WHS) requirements for slip resistance and hygiene as they remain an open pored surface. They stain and are hard to clean.

A great way to still achieve the polished concrete look and have a safe and practical floor finish without huge costs is by applying a protective clear UV-stable floor sealant, which is a cost effective alternative to renewing the concrete surface. It also allows for the right anti-slip aggregate to be added to be a compliant finish for commercial use.
